2023 Annual Carrabassett Backcountry Kids' Challenge (Ages 2-12!)
Designed for the smaller shredders, there will be three heats for beginner, intermediate, and advanced riders! $10 suggested donation - all proceeds benefit the WMCFC!

About the event
Come join us at the Annual Carrabassett Backcountry Kids' Challenge benefitting the Western Maine Center For Children! Shredders ages 2-12 welcome! The kids had a BLAST last year!
There will be three heats -
1. The "Strider" race - recommended ages 2-5. This will be a fun race course in the ice rink!
2. Single Track Loop - recommended ages 6-8 - pedal bikes needed. This is a half-mile, well-marked, fun single track loop near Moose Pond.
3. Single Track Double Loop - recommended ages 9-12. Two loops of the course in #2!
Registration is online and also at the Outdoor Center and is day-of only from 11:00am - 2:15pm There is a recommended donation of $10 per child. All proceeds benefit our amazing center!
The first heat starts at 2:30pm sharp - a later time so racers can see their kids race!
OH AND ANOTHER THING - we will be selling grilled cheeses to help fundraise as well - from 11am-3:30pm! So bring your appetites too!
Parking can be a bit tough and will likely involve a walk so allow some time to get the bikes and kids in place for their big race!
A big THANK YOU to CR NEMBA for letting us run this event for the kids at this amazing bike race! There are prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, as well as some ice cream and medals for all ! We hope to see your kids there - it's going to be FUN!
